In July 2019, my mother and I were told by an aging specialist who was also a medical doctor that she had Alzheimer’s. 4 months later, I was her full-time caregiver and was ready to move mountains to reverse this rapidly advancing disease.

I used the Apollohealthco.com website to track down a couple of chiropractors in my area of Maine who were educated in the methods behind the Bredesen Protocol for reversing cognitive decline. One wasn’t taking on new patients and one was. Naturally, I proceeded forward with making an appointment with the one who was and we started to see positive results in her cognition.

Here’s how I structured my search for the greatest number of results and you want to do this with me now:

1) I put in my zip code (at the time) of 04106
2) Hit search

Up pops a Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine (chiropractor) just 3.7 miles away. But you’ll see right away that unless you’re a paying member of Apollo’s PreCODE or ReCODE program, the name of the practice doesn’t show up.

Since we were not members of Apollo, the way I got around this was to Google search terms like: Bredesen, Alzheimer’s, Scarborough Maine, chiropractor. If I do this now, nothing shows up that looks like it’s a match, but 4 years ago when doing this same search, the website of the chiropractor I chose showed up on the first page. I’ve tried looking for his website using different terms, and I still can’t get it to show up, so it’s possible they have moved, gotten out of the brain health business, or have taken down their website.

Clearly, going this route can take some time and be frustrating, while not producing results. Or if you do find a local practitioner using Google, you may be left wondering, is this practitioner qualified to meet the demands of the Bredesen Protocol?
